Een website testen op digitale toegankelijkheid doe je met een combinatie van automatische checks en handmatige beoordeling. Automatische tools kunnen snel technische signalen geven, zoals ontbrekende alt-teksten, contrastproblemen of foutieve HTML. Toch zien zulke tools niet alles. Daarom is handmatig testen ook nodig. Denk aan navigeren met alleen het toetsenbord, formulieren invullen, menu’s controleren, foutmeldingen beoordelen en pagina’s bekijken met verschillende schermgroottes. Ook de inhoud moet worden bekeken: zijn teksten duidelijk, knoppen logisch en instructies begrijpelijk? Een toegankelijke website laten maken vraagt om meer dan mooi design. Het vraagt om een bureau dat gebruiksgemak, techniek en conversie samen kan bekijken.
