You want to sell an air conditioner, but how do you make sure someone finds your air conditioner? Right, a good SEO text. I'm going to tell you my secrets to writing good SEO text. Not just good text, but also internal or external links in your text or technical optimisation.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. When you search for something on Google, Google uses all kinds of algorithms to provide the most suitable answer. When search engine optimisation is properly applied to a text, it responds to Google's algorithms. This gives the page a higher "score". Is the "score" high? Then Google is more likely to show your page than when it is low. There are several points to consider in search engine optimisation. You can leave this to an SEO specialist or you can pull the strings yourself. It's not just writing SEO text, so know what you're doing.

How to write good SEO text?

We have just discussed what SEO is and why a good SEO text is so important. But now, of course, the question is, how do you write good text? What should you consider and are there certain tricks?

Choose the target audience for your seo text

When you write a text, any text, it is important that you have a clear picture of your target audience. Your target audience determines your choice of words, the structure of your text, its length and even which keyword to focus on. So keep your target audience in mind. After all, your SEO text is not only for a search engine, but also for the people who will read it! Make sure your text is attractive! On multiple platforms, such as social media, you can target your audience. So always target the people you want to appeal to.

Limit yourself

When you are trying to promote a product or service, you are often very enthusiastic about it. This is of course super important , but this often makes you want to tell everything at once. When you want to write a good SEO text, it is important to focus on one aspect of your product or service. This will ensure that people who enter a specific search term have a greater chance of finding your page. So create many pages with limited information instead of one page with all the information. You might want to divide your product into several topics. Google likes a topic to be explained as clearly as possible. Google determines whether you provide the answer to a particular question around your product. If you have explained this as clearly as possible with the right keywords, you will rank higher. We understand that you want to sell your product as much as possible, but don't target everyone. Determine the target audience that will use your product or service the most and thus search for it the most. When you specifically answer 'the question' with your website, Google will find you more interesting. After all, the aim is for the visitor to find the answer directly on your website without too much effort.

Go deeper into the subject

Where I just told you to limit yourself, now you need to delve into the subject. Gather all the interesting and important things about your topic. This is called semantics, or the meaning of certain topics. When you think you have found all the information ask yourself, "What is relevant to my audience?" Make sure you don't tell too much and not too little. Balance is important. Of course, you can link to branches of the topic by creating multiple pages. This will make your overall website more valuable. By continuing to expand, you can continuously optimise your SEO.

Keep it short

We have chosen our target audience, we have a clear picture of our subject and we know what we want to say. Now the question is, how? When your audience reads your seo text, it is important that it flows smoothly. So make sure your text is easy to read. How do you do this? Avoid difficult words and long sentences. Don't mind turning one long sentence into two short ones. In addition, it is important to develop your own way of writing. Every brand has its own face, its own tone. With one you write more informally than with another. In this way, you constantly empathise with both the brand and the target group you are addressing.

Retain the reader

You've written your text, the SEO score is good. You've focused on writing short, readable sentences. Yet your page is not getting the attention you would like. This could be because your text is seen as boring or monotonous. Make sure you retain the reader. Ask questions. Use catchy titles. Use revealing and catchy headings. Images always do well on a page, people get an image and a feel for your product or service. It is not the intention that the visitor has to read a very long text before finding the answer. The answer should be found at a glance. Make sure you do not just write down information, but try to turn it into a story. Use examples that your audience likes / recognises. It can also help to ensure that your text / page stands out from other pages by using unique content. Ask yourself the question, why is my page better than someone else's? And finally, imagine that you are your audience. What would you think yourself?

Done, right?

You've written your text. It's done, right? Not quite yet. Make sure you check your text again. Personally, I advise against doing this immediately after writing. Personally, I always wait at least a few hours and sometimes even a few days. This way, you look at your text with fresh eyes and you always find sentences that could be worded just a little differently. You might even get that genius idea that your text needs! Of course, it is never wrong to have other people read your text. Since the text should be easy to read by everyone, it is a good idea to have it read by several people. An expert, a layman or someone from your target audience.
